Scott Miller says
If you want a nominee I would say Tracy Meadows Nickle and her friend Shirley (sorry, don’t know your last name). Tracy runs the Oliver Free Store facebook page and her and Shirley set up every Wednesday at the food bank.
They are not affiliated with the food bank but supplement what they offer with items they receive as donations from people in Oliver. They don’t ask for any money or gain, and each week put clothes, kitchen and other items for people to take at no charge.
The service they provide allows us to recycle items that would have ended up in landfill and gives those that may not be able to afford something new goods that they may need or even have wanted.
I think these two ladies are unsung heroes of Oliver and area and should be recognized.
Publisher: Since you deem to say something nice on Christmas Day – I will allow the comment!!
Shirley Roberts is a great gal – I am a big fan of her and we usually go to the Sportsman’s Dinner together. You could learn a lot Scott by getting to know her humble and serving nature.
As to Tracy and Shirley – I agree many people are NOT noticed by the community they live in. I will NOT go on with this subject today.
