What a mess – a truckload

This is someone’s’ life, not garbage!
Not to be labeled and disposed of !
It is all of their belongings that they have been able to keep safe and together so far, and we will never understand this if we have not lived it. So get some compassion, or empathy for another’s walk of life – it is a sign of a failed social structure- not a failure of a person. Try to walk a mile in their shoes, and then still judge- I dare you! Go out of your way to see them, to talk with them, to listen to them. For the stigmatized house less that I know- this would be a great first step in helping.
Publisher: Joyce I hear you. – This is failure. Failure of government and society to house the mentally ill.
I personally have many feelings, thoughts and opinion about street people, drug addicts and the homeless and i know you don’t want to hear them.
We all must TRY to be responsible for ourselves. Most of the people I know in society live a social life…. the inflicted, the homeless, the soup kitchens, the food banks, the welfare checks, the drug addicts have a different life, a choice. I think you might consider this un caring.
I think less than 2 percent of population.
The rest of us are busy to think too much about the 2 percent.

We should not be too busy to care about the 2 percent. It is not the sort of person I want to be. Fortunately there are people who quietly help in whatever way they can. There has to be a solution to this problem. More treatment and support to heal. You have no idea about that homeless person’s life, you have not walked in his or her shoes. Sorry that your heart is so hardened Jack.
Publisher: CT you have not walked in my shoes. I think you believe I am privileged. I am descendant of the settlers who must take much blame for not designing a system for those in need. But they were looking after their needs. As most of do today.
Throwing money at everyone is NOT the answer – the answer of the Horganites and the Fed Libs,
No one seems to read history and design a plan that involves all the players so we all can be blamed later.

I do not think you are privileged. You appear to have lead an industrious life, made wise investments from what you have told me. I said nothing about throwing money at anyone. Investment in better services for those with mental illness and addictions is not throwing money at anyone it is an investment in a healthier society. So who would you have in the place of the Horganites and Fed Libs?
Publisher: Who said government was throwing money around trying to help the mentally ill and those with addictions? If you see what I see – just about everyone else is being sent the money, the cash, the investment – I could give you examples but you would argue that as well – as you do. Over 80 percent of the people live a normal industrious life of looking after and educating their children and working for a home and security in their old age. I agree their is no reasonable alternative to the BC NDP or Federal Liberals – is that not the big pickle? No choice.

Well we do agree on one thing. There is no alternative Federally at the present time. However, unlike you I am not displeased with the “Horganites”. Addiction and homelessness sadly are evident worldwide and growing. Some countries have dealt with the addiction issue better than others.

It is unfortunate because those are some homeless persons’ belongings. I often see homeless people sleeping in similar shelter areas; in this instance this is their only home and now their home belongings have been destroyed.
Sad world but how do we solve the problem?
