May 12 ???
BC state of emergency ends – a Tuesday
13 – the following day the entire province is in a state shock as people in caves and basements emerge – with empty tins of pork and beans & soup cans – dumps are over whelmed with debris, rubber gloves, masks and garbage.
14 – The next day – you can go to the car wash and clean the car – ( I noticed on a hot sunny today Scott had opened the doors )
15 – The next day – a lot of businesses in Oliver, contracting firms etc. drive in a parade down main street to show their trucks.
16- The next day a number of shops began to open the drapes&doors and welcome some weary customers with hair down to the ankles….. nails that need to be trimmed, a back that needed help, a face that needed to be restored…. I think you get it.
17- Next day you can pour your own coffee at 7-11… the vinyl/plastic shields come down.
18- Next day Crucetti’s re-opens with the George Special – beer battered fish and chips – superlative. The line up – around the block to the Police Station
19- Next day Corinne tells Karen and Kevin – time for the balloons – get a big one!
20 BC liquor stores restore “regular” hours
21 Day Associated with Queen Victoria Day – many swim at Rotary Beach.
22- BCFGA members check out the crop and celebrate our picker-visitors at Lion’s Park.
23- High School in Oliver announces plan to celebrate graduation July 1st.
24- Town of Oliver and RDOS announce that we shall celebrate Canada Day in a way never seen before.
Will this fantasy come to past? Will Bridge Park open soon? Will it become so hot I cannot control the people?
END it.
