Thanks to all who have made enquiries about my health since a story in the ODN reported I had suffered an episode in the hills, over Vaseux Lake.
On Sunday morning I had gone to take part in the annual sheep count and, after splitting into smaller groups, had climbed up the hill. The going was not too steep but, owing to rather wet snow, was rather strenuous and I suddenly was overcome with breathlessness and a racing heart. I was cold and clammy and, apparently, was extremely pale so the group decided to call the ambulance. After an examination I was taken to Penticton Hospital and spent the next seven hours being poked and prodded and having various tests.
The results were that I had not suffered a heart attack but probably too much sitting around during the winter months, followed by sudden exertion, had resulted in too much stress on my system.
I was discharged with directions to follow up with my family doctor and a determination to change my diet and get rid of some excess weight. Sometimes, all it needs to change your lifestyle is a sudden reminder of our mortality.

The picture of the sheep was taken several weeks ago right from the highway, you will notice one of the sheep has a radio collar that are used for tracking the sheep. I notice that the sheep always turn away from you, they think if they cant see you, you are not there.
