Two dark lagoons

First person to guess location wins a bottle of wine. Which reminds me to find out that the person who won the last contest and I owe them a bottle of white wine. – Prize must be picked up at a Main Street location in Oliver.

Found it – last winner was Sam Zee for guessing mystery man at graduation ceremony. I shall contact that winner by email.
And it appears Lisa was quick off the mark this morning with her answer of the day.

It still brings tears to my eyes, when I think about the Bass that snapped my 15 lb. test line in the Northern Lagoon. The Lagoon measured 40 feet deep on average and has some real lunker large mouth bass in it.

My grandparents, Tom and Vivien Worth lived on Sundial Road for a many years which is were I spent my summers as a kid, my grandfather built 6 or so paddleboards and mini kyaks, my cousins and I would row west towards the train tressle (it isn’t there anymore) and go into the first and second lagoons and float around for hours….yes we thought it was the best kept secret too!

I grew up floating in those lagoons, Marie Thompson ( George & Joan’s daughter) Pam Mcguinness( lived on the beach) and myself used to spend days and evenings just floating, it was our own private Hawaii. There were seldom any others out there, like one of our best kept secrets, or so we thought.

Dave, Dave, Dave….the subject here is not the park! Stay focussed Dave.

  7. Dave Whalley says:

Forgot to say, all that area should be in the proposed National Park

I not only know where it is, I have walked to it down the length of vasseau lake, so I deserve the bottle of wine.
What we need is a footbridge where the KVR trestle used to be so we can get there along the KVR right of way from the south

  9. Jim Bowering says:

Lisa’s right. It’s the two lagoons off the river where it leaves the lake. Enjoy your wine, Lisa.-)
