The horse, the hay and the barn $$

Second installment in our series on “Friendly” Joey (Brierwood) the horse found to the east of Oliver in a bad condition and which is now being nursed back to health.

Pictured above Ken MacRae with Joey – followed by the hay & feed that is needed and the barn where the quarter horse rests – out of the elements.

My offer to this situation is this – Joey eats 1 bale in two days. Each bale is $8. Therefore each month about 15 bales are needed and in 3 months 45 bales.

For every $20 bill donated to Ken and Dawn – ODN will pony up $4 to a limit of $60.

That means we need 15 twenties to make this work. Can you help Joey gain 300 to 400 pounds.

Joey is currently being housed at the D Bar K Ranch on Sawmill Road.

Went out to meet Joey today. Ken and Dawn were very welcoming to us. Joey is a lovely horse who did appear to enjoy the attention. Thank you for taking this sweet animal in to your home andwe will be happy to keep in touch and donate when more is needed. Sandra

Just back from the dbark ranch. Donated my $20 and met Briarwood/Joey. He was tucking into his fresh hay. Yum. But no apples yet, his system is too weak to digest them.

We are so lucky to have people like Ken and Dawn in our community. Well done you two for stepping forward and looking after this poor, neglected animal. Hopefully, he will soon be on his way to a full recovery. And thanks to you Jack for bringing this to our attention.
