Time to get the car shiny
I wasn’t here for the flood of ’48, but I’ve heard lots of stories. There are many properties all long the channel, and on Osoyoos Lake that could not be used if the channel hadn’t gone in.
It wouldn’t be so bad if there weren’t so many homes built on the flood plane, but then again, the little flying blood suckers might make it a real “slap time in the south Okanagan.”
i havent seen the river this full since the mid 80s. my grandparents used to live at the corner of rd9 and i would go to the river lots. what a site to see. oxbows………….well,ther would be major flooding..
