Parks budget slashed

Oliver Parks and Recreation Society has slashed its budget to a zero percent increase and those changes will now have to be incorporated in the RDOS budget at the next Regional District budget meeting in Penticton.

Board members directed that $9000 in savings be found to get the budget increase to $0.00. The changes were effected with no change in program areas and no effect on the public.

The motion to approve the budget made last night and includes spending of $1.278 million dollars with $64 thousand dollars in capital spending.

Town taxpayers will spend $535,500 and Rural taxpayers $372,000.
