On July 11th, 2013, at approximately 6:50 pm, Police responded with Fire and Ambulance to a 2 vehicle accident at Hwy 3 and Lakeshore Dr in Osoyoos. A Nissan truck had entered the Highway from a parking lot and was struck by a motorcycle travelling on Highway 3. The motorcycle was not able to avoid the truck and the driver ended up under the rear area of the truck. Osoyoos Firefighters pushed the truck away from the 21 year old man from Osoyoos and provided medical Assistance. BC Ambulance then transported the motorcyclist for treatment for a cut arm. The 65 year old Langley man who drove the Nissan truck was charged for Driving Without Due Care and Attention. Both vehicles were towed form the scene and alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
On July 12th, 2013, Police were advised that overnight 2 mountain bikes had been stolen from the Green Gables Motel in Osoyoos. The bikes had been locked up outside a hotel room and were missing in the morning. One bike is a 24 speed Giant XTC, Black with red detail and the other is a 24 speed ‘Specialized Mica’, Black with purple detail.
On July 12th, 2013, at approximately 10:30 pm, the Osoyoos RCMP received a third party report of a motor vehicle accident East of Osoyoos. Police attended at the scene and found a 1991 Red Honda Civic with BC License 346-RWG being towed from the ditch. The driver was not at the scene and it appeared from the skid marks that the vehicle was heading Westbound and was going too fast for the corner, skidded across the centre line and went off the road to the left hitting a rock face. A similar car had been called in two hours previous driving erratically in the Princeton area. Alcohol was found in the vehicle which was towed and will be held for investigation until the Owner / Driver speaks with the Police.
