The routes and the costs

We already have transit to Kelowna through BC Transit. Go to bctransit .com /south-okanagan-similkameen/schedules-and-maps
The bus leaves the Oliver for Kelowna on Mondays. Twice a day if you’re only going to Penticton. For $8 round trip you can go to Kelowna. Why pay twice for a redundant service?
Clearly we have it, why aren’t you using it?

I believe this proposal is BC Transit, not in addition to BC Transit. It is for the expansion of their existing service.

I find it funny how quick people are to approve of something when they don’t have to pay for it. or when some else if forced to subsidize it. Only $2.25 per household! on top of this, that and everything else is how we end up with property taxes that keep climbing!Let the users pay and keep your hands out of my pocket!
As it is the local hub for many of the companies I deal with, I deal in Kelowna quite often. It’s much more efficient to have the products shipped as there are multiple options to get stuff here twice a day from Kelowna!
Further more, outside of commercial or industrial goods we can buy everything needed without going past Penticton. In fact we purchase most household items in town. Unless your feeding a large family of bottomless pits, some simple math (and considering aspects) all would show that on average, it cost more to shop out of town.
If you are used to having all the amenities close at hand and would like that convince again, then its likely that you have moved here from a larger center. Please feel free to move back!

I believe the largest reason for this is many people have appointments in these communities and many have no transportation….this is not a transit for shopping….

Yes, a great start for a growing community, with more pick up locations and good advertising, we are off and riding.

I’m in at that price. I don’t need transit myself, but in the future? Who knows?
