Touch

A touch is light, soft, may even be tender. We can be touched by a story and if someone is a bit touched they may not be mentally well. When we touch each other we can communicate a positive intent, could be love. That touch needn’t be physical, could even be just a look, a certain kind of look at a certain moment. When something is touching it stirs emotion and empathy.

This touch thing has a lot to do with emotion. I can be touched by the angel of death or by an angel of light, hope, love. It seems that we are touched a lot by other people and not just physically. I guess that means I touch a lot of people in my day to day interactions. I wonder which angel I feel like when I touch someone?

A touch is like a whisper, light, soft, could be missed if I am not paying attention. When trying to touch me, if I miss it, you may try again and touch more strongly. When the touch is not physical (sending vibes), it may escalate into a phone call. One can yearn for another, one can send a message or piece of info. We are somehow connected beyond the physical in the same room and we can communicate by touch.

Rizzo says that Sandi is “so touchy” after the girls in Grease sing that she is “lousy with virginity” (and other things). When someone is ‘touchy feely’ they are sensitive and highly intuitive. In the sport of fencing, touché, is to touch your opponent with the foil, and it means “I admit that you have me”, as the one being touched is the one who speaks it. Sometimes admitting touché can be a very helpful thing. Yes?

It is a privilege to receive or give touch. To do so requires a rare level of attention, a connection on a level beyond just physical. A story can touch me because I relate, I feel the story and absorb the emotions in it. We need and crave touch, to be seen, as expressed in the movie Avatar, to be caressed as new born babies must be or they can die, to be acknowledged. Go out and touch someone, let someone touch you.

Norton says apple and peach blossom damage could be bad as well.
