A flock of quail is known as a bevy, covey or a drift. We love watching them in our back yard, aka Turtle Beach.
Beautiful shot, Mike!
Happy New Year everybody.

A small gathering to be sure. We get from 100 to 300 plus Quail, 60 to 80 assorted Doves, assorted small birds, and only 10 to 15 Mallards per feeding this year. Up to 4 or 5 feedings per day, first thing in the morning, 12:30, 2:30, 3:30 and 4:30, they can get up to 4 liters of seed per feeding. They can get quite pushy at times, got out of the vehicle the other day, went to the back of the car to get out groceries and the Quail were running up to within 6 or 8 feet from me. The ducks can have problems landing in the wind with all the lines going all over the place in our alley, so they will land on one of three roofs before they come down to the seed in the alley. Last year we got up to 58 Mallards per feeding. Not uncommon to go thru 3 or 4 big bags of seed in a week, pays to buy the seed 6 and 8 bags at a wack when I find them on sale, only have 4 bags left so looking for more now. Anyone know of good sale on now.

My all-time favorite! Our feeder budget is next and we don’t care. These little guys and gals are our favorites! Thanks so much for sharing.

That would be a Covey, according to the better half. Looks like a herd to me…
