Apparently a truck drove thru a window at private liquor store at Southwind Mall.

On March 3rd, 2018 Oliver RCMP responded to a report of a break in at the Desert Country Liquor store located on Main Street in Oliver. Upon arriving on scene police discovered that the suspect vehicle had driven through the front window of the liquor store causing thousands of dollars in damage. Once inside the suspect stole a number of items before fleeing the scene.
The vehicle that was used in the crime was a 2013 Kia Sorrento which had been stolen from Oliver during the early morning hours of March 3rd. Osoyoos RCMP recovered the stolen vehicle on March 4th. Police are actively investigating this incident. Anyone that has any information is asked to please call Oliver RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Transport Canada is looking to carry out a reno/expansion of Penticton’s airport terminal. The end project would be over 10 thousand square feet of construction.
The budget set has upper limit of $5.4 million dollars. No tender has been accepted to our knowledge.
